we are two friends who love design, architecture, furniture, color, and obsessing over the details of our homes.
the claw foot tub is a retail shop and design studio. we like to mix old with new, modern with traditional. we are not interested in keeping up with the jones', but we are strongly concerned with the spirituality of homekeeping and encourage consciousness of the impact (both on ourselves and on the planet) of the items we put into our homes. we like to think of our products as “ethically sourced”—they are local and organic when possible, fair trade and eco friendly otherwise. our kitchen goods, table ware, bedding, and bath products are museum-quality, artisan-made and yet they are for every day use and will last a lifetime.
we offer design services, workshops, a blog, and an online shop all from our bright, sunny downtown amherst location.
